The actions were concentrated in Tercer Milenio park and San Bernardo neighbourhood, sectors identified by authorities as priority areas due to their history of microdrug trafficking offences, theft, personal injuries and homicides, according to official information from the Bogotá Portal.
The deployment falls within the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan and responds to the strategy promoted by the new commander of the 13th Brigade, Brigadier General William Fernando Caicedo Benavides. Alongside the Army, the National Police, the General Prosecutor's Office and the District Secretariat for Security, Coexistence and Justice also participated, coordinating institutional capacities to confront violence and other destabilising factors in the city and in the department of Cundinamarca.
The District Secretariat for Security stated that these interventions aim to consolidate safe public spaces and recover sectors affected by criminal dynamics. The central objective, according to available official information, is to counter criminal conduct in key zones of the capital's centre through the joint action of the various agencies.
The authorities called on citizens to report any criminal acts or matters contrary to coexistence through the Emergency Line 123. According to official sources, citizen reporting facilitates the judicial prosecution of those responsible and the opening of investigative proceedings.
