A multi-crime operation carried out in the north-eastern area of Medellín, specifically in district 1 – Popular, concluded with the detention of ten people accused of belonging to the Organised Criminal Group 'San Pablo', according to information published by the National Police of Colombia.
Officers carried out seventeen search and raid procedures. This resulted in seven arrests ordered by a judge and three arrests made in flagrante delicto. The accused face investigations for aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes, offences related to narcotics, and possession or trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
Among those detained is an individual known as 'Salchicha', whom authorities identify as the second-in-command of the gang. This man, with an alleged criminal history spanning some twenty years, allegedly directed the sale of illicit substances and other criminal operations within the group.
Six alleged coordinators were arrested alongside him who, according to the investigation, carried out various criminal activities under his orders.
During the operation, officers seized more than fourteen million Colombian pesos in cash.
Those detained and the seized items were handed over to the judicial authorities for preliminary hearings and the determination of their legal status.
The armed institution reiterated its commitment to combating criminal structures through firm interventions and urged residents to report incidents that disturb public order to the 123 hotline.
