Prison for couple accused of murdering TransMilenio station guard
A couple have been remanded in custody over the homicide of security guard Cristian Garzón at Terreros station on TransMilenio, which occurred on 18 September 2026.
Arrested in Soacha after killing TransMilenio security guard
Bogota.gov.co reports that Deibi Gabriel Acevedo Sánchez and Anngi Natalia Díaz Sierra have been remanded in preventive custody over the homicide of security guard Cristian Garzón, which occurred on Friday 18 September 2026 at Terreros station on TransMilenio, on the Southern motorway in the municipality of Soacha.
According to the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, the victim had prevented the couple from entering the station without paying the fare. In response, Acevedo Sánchez attacked the guard with a knife, whilst Díaz Sierra urged him to continue with the assault. Security colleagues at the location transported Garzón to a nearby healthcare centre, where he died from the severity of his wounds.
Officers from the Soacha Police apprehended the two individuals caught in the act in a public place as they attempted to flee. At the moment of arrest, authorities seized the bladed weapon used in the attack.
A prosecutor from the Cundinamarca Office of the Attorney General of the Nation charged them with aggravated homicide. The defendants did not accept the charges. A Control of Guarantees judge imposed a custodial detention measure in a prison facility for both.
Deibi Gabriel Acevedo Sánchez and Anngi Natalia Díaz Sierra will remain in prison whilst judicial proceedings against them advance.
