Man attacks woman with knife on pedestrian overpass in northern Bogotá; police identify him as habitual offender

A worker was assaulted with a sharp blade by an individual on the pedestrian overpass of the northern highway at street 170, in northern Bogotá, as she was travelling to her workplace. The incident was reported by Semana, citing testimony given by the victim to Noticias Caracol.
The woman said that the man appeared suddenly and rammed her with such force that the bicycle she was riding fell on top of her. "He hits me with his body, knocks me down so hard that the bike falls on top of me", she described.
According to her account, the aggressor grabbed her left arm and leg as if trying to help her up, although she neither resisted nor attempted to hold on to her belongings. Suddenly, the man pulled out a dagger and began hitting her on the left arm. After striking her in the chest, the attacker stepped over her.
The victim managed to get to her feet and ran seeking help, whilst the man pursued her, hurling insults. At one point, when she looked behind, she saw the man trip over the abandoned bicycle, react, go back to it and flee on the pedals.
The worker made it to a car wash, where she asked for help. "It was obvious, I was covered in blood", she said. Those present alerted the authorities and two motorcycle officers responded.
When she gave a description of the aggressor, one of the officers said to his colleague "the usual one", indicating that the individual had already committed similar attacks in that area, presumably against women.
The woman was taken to a medical centre to receive treatment for her wounds. The identity of the aggressor is not currently known.
