Tren de Aragua suspected in rabbi's murder in Bogotá
The body of Rabbi Nuchem Eber, of New York, was found in Bosa with signs of torture. The Prosecutor's Office links Tren de Aragua to the crime.

According to reporting by noticiasrcn.com in an exclusive, members of Tren de Aragua would be linked to the murder of Rabbi Nuchem Eber, a United States citizen originally from New York whose body was found in the Bosa neighbourhood, south of Bogotá, on 22 April.
Security cameras recorded the last images of the rabbi alive on 21 April, when he left his lodging in the north of the city for the last time heading south. Hours later, his body was found semi-naked inside a wardrobe, with evident signs of torture, adhesive tape covering his mouth, and his limbs bound.
The Prosecutor's Office opened a new line of investigation against Tren de Aragua. According to the investigation, those allegedly responsible would be the same people who ordered the murder of teacher Kevin Santiago Ángel, whose body was also abandoned, in that case inside a suitcase.
The prosecuting body identified Osmer Josué Castillo Urbaneja, alias Osmer, as second-in-command in the hierarchy of Tren de Aragua and points to him as directly linked to the rabbi's crime. According to a witness, Castillo Urbaneja also controls drug trafficking and receives orders from Giovanny Vicente, leader of the gang imprisoned and implicated in other homicides, kidnappings, extortions, and theft.
The investigations also point to alias Alondra, a woman from Tren de Aragua tasked with seducing victims before they are murdered. Investigators also determined that Eber was not in Bogotá for tourism, but for work reasons.
From the United States, authorities are closely following the progress of the investigation with a view to requesting the extradition of the gang members implicated in the crime.
