Couple assaults security guard at TransMilenio and is captured in flagrante delicto

Units of the National Police detained two informal vendors at the Calle 100 station on the Northern trunk line of TransMilenio, in the locality of Barrios Unidos, after both physically assaulted a private security guard. According to reports from semana.com, the incident originated following a warning issued by the portal's surveillance personnel for selling products inside the transport system.

The private security team requested urgent assistance from uniformed officers during the altercation. Upon arriving at the scene, agents verified that the two suspects had attacked the officer after refusing to comply with the internal regulations of the mass transit system.

The aggressors were subdued and detained at the site. Subsequently they were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority to initiate proceedings for personal injury charges.

Lieutenant Colonel Maryam Moreno, commander of the TransMilenio Mass Transit Police Group, noted that the action corresponds to the continuous deployment of surveillance on the trunk lines. The officer indicated that the altercation arose from the informal merchants' refusal to comply with the internal norms of the system.

Within the framework of the official report, authorities clarified that during 2026 the police group has achieved the capture in flagrante delicto of 1,540 people for various crimes, reinforcing preventive presence at stations, articulated buses and portals in the capital.

The National Police reiterated the call to resolve disputes through dialogue and urged users to report acts of intolerance through the emergency line 123 or at the nearest police station.
