The incident occurred during the most recent long weekend, at the junction of Avenida Caracas and Calle 45C Sur. The exact circumstances that triggered the altercation remain under investigation.
López was accompanied by his partner at the time of the attack, according to information released by Gatonoticias. After receiving the injuries, he was transferred to a medical facility whilst his companion called for help. Medical staff were unable to save his life due to the severity of the injuries.
The alleged aggressor fled the scene after committing the homicide. The Bogotá Metropolitan Police took over the case and is carrying out evidence collection and information review work in order to identify and apprehend those responsible.
For now, no details have been revealed about the motives of the crime, and the investigation remains open.
