Police seize a further 263.5 kilos of ketamine in Limassol warehouse
Police have seized 263.5 kilos of ketamine in a warehouse in Limassol, bringing the total to over 390 kilos. Four people remain in custody.
Further ketamine seizure in Limassol — over 390 kilos in total
Police seized 263.5 kilos of ketamine in a warehouse in Limassol on Monday, according to reports by Cyprus Mail. The new discovery was made by the Drug Suppression Unit (Ykan) following an assessment of evidence that had been gathered as part of an earlier investigation.
Two days earlier, on 12 September, Ykan in cooperation with the police air unit had seized 126 kilos and 876 grams of ketamine during searches of two residences in Limassol. Along with the narcotic substance, other quantities of drugs, cash and further evidence were found.
The searches were conducted at two residences where two couples lived: a man aged 53 with a woman aged 51 and a man aged 50 with a woman aged 31. All four were arrested and on Sunday the Limassol District Court remanded them in custody for eight days.
With the latest seizure, the total quantity of ketamine seized as part of the investigation now amounts to over 390 kilos. The Limassol Ykan unit continues its investigation.
