Murder of Bangladeshi student in Larnaca: Accused admits all three charges

According to sigmalive.com, the self-confessed perpetrator of the murder of 22-year-old Bangladeshi student Shahruar Ahmed Emon appeared today before the Permanent District Court of Larnaca and admitted all three charges he faces. The next hearing was set for 6 October.
The accused faces charges of premeditated murder, abduction of a person with intent to commit premeditated murder, and demanding property under threats with intent to steal. These offences are alleged to have been committed in June in the Larnaca district.
A forensic examination of the victim revealed three cuts in the scapular region and one cut in the left cervical area.
According to details presented at a previous hearing, the accused met the victim on 7 June whilst travelling by bus. The two young men exchanged contact details, whilst, based on claims attributed to the suspect, that meeting gave him the impression that the student came from a wealthy family.
Two days later, on 9 June, the suspect is alleged to have purchased a knife. On 11 June he contacted Emon, citing a job opportunity with payment of 50 euros per day. That same evening the 22-year-old went to the Kofinóu area to meet the suspect.
The victim's body was discovered in an open area in Kofinóu, where a knife was also recovered as evidence. Upon the arrest of the suspect, police found in his possession personal items belonging to the victim, including boarding passes and a bank card bearing the student's name. Investigators are continuing the investigation into a series of claims concerning the events that led to his death.
