Two people were detained and 317 offences were recorded during extensive checks carried out by the Police on Saturday evening across the entire Republic.

Teams conducted organised patrols at critical points in urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order and enhancing citizens' sense of security.

Of the 317 offences, 134 concerned drivers travelling at speeds exceeding the permitted limit. Additionally, one driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, whilst 24 offences involved vehicles that had not passed the mandatory technical inspection.

The first arrest concerned a person who was wanted under a court warrant. The second person was arrested in connection with a matter relating to drugs legislation.
