Police carried out seven arrests and conducted hundreds of checks during organised patrols at night. The violations included illegal residence and vehicle theft.
Seven arrests and hundreds of checks in police night-time operation
Authorities carried out seven arrests during night-time checks across the country. Those arrested are accused of various criminal offences, including illegal residence in the Republic of Cyprus and vehicle theft.
According to official information, police officers stopped 851 vehicles for inspection and examined 1,130 drivers and passengers. In parallel, 44 shop inspections were carried out, which resulted in 14 complaints.
With regard to road safety, 253 violations were recorded. Sixty-four of these concerned excessive speed. Additionally, 438 alcohol tests were conducted, with 31 drivers testing positive. Nine vehicles were seized.
