Four people, aged between 25 and 45, appeared before the District Court of the capital in a case concerning drug trafficking and weapons offences.

The judges decided to refer the case to the Permanent Criminal Court, with the first hearing scheduled for 9 October of the following year. Three of the arrested individuals will remain in custody until then, whilst the 45-year-old was released on restrictive conditions.

The operation began in late May, when police stopped a vehicle for inspection in Aglantzia. Inside the vehicle, packages containing cocaine, a quantity of dried plant material and an electronic scale were found.

In a search that followed at the residence of the younger of the two drivers, authorities discovered six firearms, nearly 300 bullets, dozens of packages containing controlled pills, as well as an additional quantity of dried plant material.

The Drug Law Enforcement Unit and the Capital District Investigation Unit undertook the investigations. On 29 and 31 May, two further suspects, aged 45 and 31, were arrested as part of the same case.
