Police arrested a 36-year-old man in Paphos on warrant in connection with an explosion of an improvised device that occurred in March outside corporate offices.
36-year-old arrested in Paphos for attempted property destruction with explosives
Police authorities proceeded yesterday evening, around 7.00 p.m., with the arrest of a 36-year-old man in Paphos. His detention was made on the basis of a warrant issued following evidence that emerged during an investigation by the Paphos CID.
The incident under investigation occurred in the morning of 30 March 2026. An improvised incendiary device exploded outside corporate offices in the city. The explosion caused damage to the glass of the main entrance and to the walls of the building. Examinations carried out at the scene revealed that the device contained flammable substance along with industrial detonator caps.
The arrested man is expected to be presented today before a judicial officer for the issue of a detention order.
It is noted that for the same incident, another man, aged 46, had previously been arrested, on 2 April, also on warrant. The 46-year-old remains in detention, as the case against him has been referred for trial to the Permanent Criminal Court of Paphos.
The Crime Detection Department of Paphos continues the investigation for full clarification of the case.
