Police evacuated Prague's main railway station on Tuesday morning following an anonymous bomb threat. Train services were suspended and metro trains only passed through the station.

Prague's main railway station was evacuated on Tuesday morning after an unknown person reported the placement of an explosive device. Police announced this shortly before 8am on the social media platform X. A bomb disposal expert was dispatched to the scene.
"An evacuation of Prague's main railway station is taking place due to an anonymous threat regarding the placement of a booby-trapped explosive system," police representatives stated. Approximately half an hour later, they announced that the building had been cleared. "The last trains are arriving at the station, after which a pyrotechnic inspection will be carried out," they added.
The transport authority halted metro stops on line C at the Hlavní nádraží station before 7:45. Trains only passed through the station. The boarding stop for bus line AE was relocated to Opletalova Street.
Train services were suspended shortly after 8:20, as confirmed by Martin Kavka, spokesman for the Railway Administration for extraordinary events. Incoming trains were diverted.
Wilsonova Street, which runs along the north-south magistral around the station, was closed in both directions from 8:45. "Traffic restrictions will last a minimum of one to two hours," police stated.
Tens of thousands of people head into Prague each morning through the main railway station. Similar anonymous threats are not uncommon at this location. In December 2016, police evacuated the station for the same reason and apprehended the perpetrator a day later. A man who made a bomb threat in September 2019 and a woman from August 2021 were charged with the offence of spreading a false alarm.
