A drug-intoxicated man moved about the grounds of Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem on Friday morning, threatening hospital staff and security with a machete and physical assault.

On Friday morning, the municipal police in Ústí nad Labem received a report from hospital security. The guards reported that a drug-intoxicated man was present in the grounds of Masaryk Hospital and refusing to leave the toilet facilities.
Upon arrival, the patrol established that the man had threatened both staff and security guards with a machete and physical attack. The officers soon identified him as a known homeless man with whom they had repeatedly dealt regarding past offences. The man admitted that he had drawn the weapon, but subsequently returned it to his rucksack.
A state police patrol also arrived at the scene, called by the person who made the report. Criminal investigators took over the case for further investigation. The perpetrator was subdued at the scene.
