Brno police officer caught arranging sex with "schoolgirl" (14): court gives him conditional sentence
A sixty-year-old police officer from Brno was messaging an apparent fourteen-year-old girl and arranged a meeting for sexual intercourse. Instead of the girl, he was met by a pair of young men who beat him.

A sixty-year-old police officer Jaroslav L. from Brno arrived at the agreed location last summer expecting a sexual encounter with a fourteen-year-old girl. Instead, he was met by two young men who physically attacked him. The case has now been closed by the Brno Municipal Court with a conditional sentence, Blesk.cz reported.
Behind the profile of the alleged schoolgirl was a group of persons, according to police inspectorate spokesman Jakub Augusta. "The police officer moved in the environment of internet dating sites and, believing he was communicating with a real girl aged 14, was attempting to seduce her into sexual intercourse. Behind the profile of the girl with whom the police officer was communicating and openly wanted to have sexual intercourse was a group of persons. They pretended to be minor girls online, luring adult men to meetings and subsequently physically attacking them," Augusta confirmed.
The conversation with the fictional "Terezka" lasted almost half a year and contained specific sexual proposals. Jaroslav L. sent a photograph of his erect penis and, because of the alleged girl, travelled from Brno all the way to Prague. Judge Ondřej Klusák of the Brno Municipal Court described this conduct as peculiar from the perspective of a police investigator.
The second lieutenant from South Moravia was charged with the criminal offence of establishing improper contact with children, for which up to two years' imprisonment is threatened. He defended himself in court by claiming he suspected the deception and wanted to investigate the matter. "I am not some pervert, not a paedophile," he declared.
The court sentenced him to one year's imprisonment with a two-year conditional probationary period, a fine of 60,000 crowns and forfeiture of a mobile phone. Neither the prosecution nor the defence waived their right to appeal and reserved their right to make a statement, so the verdict is not yet final. The police officer, who has been suspended from duty, also faces definitive dismissal from the police force.
