Police patrols apprehended an armed man in the vicinity of a school facility in Čelákovice, north-east of Prague, after a several-hour search. The incident triggered a large-scale security operation.
According to a report by RTVS, police informed the public shortly after 7 a.m. of a man in poor mental condition who was moving with a firearm. It was initially believed he was driving a blue Škoda Fabia. Later, it emerged that he may have also been using a borrowed red Renault Megane.
Sixty police patrols searched for the man. He was last spotted before 8 a.m. in Brandýs nad Labem. The apprehension took place shortly before 2 p.m. in the Prague district of Strašnice. Police are now conducting procedural steps to clarify all circumstances of the case.
