The Central Bohemian Regional Court on Wednesday handed down an eighteen-year prison sentence to a thirty-six-year-old nurse who stabbed her seven-year-old daughter with mental disabilities. The woman confessed to the act and attempted suicide herself. Police found her unconscious.
The mother disagreed with the verdict and lodged an appeal against the court's decision on the spot. She had faced the possibility of an exceptional sentence for murder committed in an especially cruel manner.
