Jeroným Tejc from ANO, head of the Justice Ministry, has filed a disciplinary complaint against a district judge. Last autumn, she ruled that a three-year-old girl should be placed in the care of her biological father. In her judgment, she herself noted that the man suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and had problems with drug addiction. In March of this year, the child was killed by the father, who confessed to the criminal act. The Prague High Court confirmed this information in Tuesday's broadcast on ČT.
Before being placed with her parent in October, the girl had been living with a foster family. The court nonetheless changed her placement. The tragic event occurred on 21 March. The Seznam Zprávy server drew attention to the case this year.
Tejc indicated in the media last week that he intends to take action. "I assess the results of the ministry's oversight as extremely serious and do not intend to downplay them," he said. He explained that disciplinary measures can only be applied by ministers when gross misconduct is established. "I believe that such misconduct occurred in this case," he added.
According to media reports, this is an unusual procedure. Disciplinary proceedings typically address judicial conduct or delays, not the substance of the ruling itself.
