The regional court in Hradec Králové has delivered a verdict against a young resident from a care home in Chrastava in the Liberec region. Together with two other minor youths, he attacked a pedagogical worker with whom he had previously been in conflict. The attackers bound the woman with an electrical cable and one of them additionally threatened her with a knife.

Following the incident, which took place at the facility in Chrastava, the teacher has been experiencing prolonged psychological consequences. According to information from iDNES.cz citing CNN Prima News, the judge imposed a measure on the young offender that simultaneously provides him with a final opportunity to change his behaviour. The verdict reflects the fact that the defendant is a minor, while also taking into account the severity of the act and the damage caused.

The case drew attention due to the brutal manner in which the group of minors treated a person who performed pedagogical duties at the facility. The trial took place in Hradec Králové, where the case fell under local jurisdiction.
