On Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement officials conducted a check on a Volkswagen vehicle in the village of Držovice in the Prostějov region. It was being driven by a middle-aged man. A breathalyser test revealed severe intoxication.

The initial reading measured 2.01 per mille of alcohol in the breath. In a repeated test, the value rose slightly to 2.03 per mille. "Based on the facts established, police have initiated criminal proceedings," said Miluše Zajícová, spokesperson for the regional police headquarters.

The suspect faces charges for the criminal offence of endangerment under the influence of a psychoactive substance.
