The district court in Ústí nad Labem began hearing a case of attempted murder of an elderly man at a bus stop in Krásné Březno. The defendant claims he has suffered from hallucinations since childhood and has used drugs for years. The prosecutor is seeking 12 years in prison.

The district court in Ústí nad Labem began hearing a case of attempted murder that occurred in November 2024 at a bus stop in the Ústí part of Krásné Březno. The defendant attacked an unknown elderly man there.
The perpetrator is now in psychiatric care. He told the court that he had consumed addictive substances for years and had hallucinations since early childhood. Public prosecutor Vladimír Jan is convinced that the man came to the site with the intention of killing someone.
The defendant faces up to twenty years in prison. The prosecutor proposes a sentence of twelve years in prison. The court hearing will continue with testimony from experts.
