Man from Tachov region dealt in pervitin and stole; court remanded him in custody
In March of this year, police officers from a specialist narcotics team in Tachov arrested a thirty-five-year-old man. Investigators established that over a period of at least five years he had distributed pervitin to approximately forty interested parties. He had obtained the substance himself in the Plzeň and Karlovy Vary regions for his own use.
However, while uncovering his activities, detectives discovered additional illegal actions. "Criminalists uncovered not only drug dealing, but also a series of property-related criminal activity," police spokeswoman Iva Vršecká stated. Operational investigation revealed that the detainee had cooperated with two other perpetrators, a fifty-six-year-old and a thirty-three-year-old man, in property offences in the Tachov region.
The group broke into family homes, where they damaged entrance doors and removed property. The value of stolen items exceeded tens of thousands. The perpetrators also targeted vehicles, from which they stole tools and diesel fuel. Vršecká pointed out that both older accomplices had previously been lawfully convicted of similar criminal activity.
The commissioner initiated criminal prosecution of the pair of co-perpetrators for theft and violation of home privacy. The younger of the two also faced charges of damaging others' property. The main suspect faces prosecution for a serious crime connected with the illegal manufacture and distribution of narcotic substances, along with subsidiary offences of theft and violation of home privacy.
The public prosecutor proposed remanding the main accused in custody, and the judge granted this motion. The man now awaits trial in a remand prison.
