Two stabbings over the weekend in the Most district. Woman attacked man, then relative attacked
Police in the Most district dealt with two independent cases during the past weekend in which attackers used cold weapons. In both cases, the suspects ended up behind bars.
On Saturday evening, a woman in one of the local villages stabbed a man in the back. The injured man suffered serious injuries and the emergency service transported him to hospital. Police detained the woman and charged her with grievous bodily harm. Given the seriousness of the offence, investigators filed a motion for her remand in custody, which the court accepted.
On Sunday evening, another incident occurred. A man attacked his relative with a knife. This time the injuries were less serious, and the victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries. Police detained the attacker and placed him in a pre-trial detention cell. They are currently investigating the circumstances of both cases and gathering evidence.
"The suspect faces charges of grievous bodily harm. Police filed a motion for the woman to be remanded in custody," said police spokeswoman Ilona Gazdošová regarding the first case. Regarding the second incident, she added: "The suspect man was detained after the act and is currently in a police cell."
Both cases are being investigated separately for now. Police did not release further information about the motives or the identities of those involved.
