Father on trial for raping his own eight-year-old daughter; faces seven years in prison
The Regional Court in Plzen is hearing a case involving a man from the Domažlice district who allegedly sexually abused his minor daughter. The state prosecutor is requesting a seven-year prison sentence.

The Regional Court in Plzen began hearing on Tuesday the case of a man from the Domažlice district accused of rape and sexual assault against his own daughter. According to Novinky.cz, state prosecutor Martin Rykl recommended imposing a seven-year prison sentence and protective sexological treatment in outpatient form on the accused. The representative of the injured party is seeking non-pecuniary damages of one million crowns.
The state prosecutor describes two separate attacks. The first allegedly occurred in 2020. "The accused undressed and demanded that the injured party touch his penis. When she refused, he took her hand and rubbed himself with it," Rykl stated. The second case occurred three years later. "After removing her from her pyjamas, the man grabbed her by the legs, and despite her resistance and attempts to kick, he spread them and inserted his penis into her vagina," the state prosecutor described.
The accused denied all charges in court. He claims it is revenge by his former partner after he sought exclusive custody of his daughter. "My daughter told me of her own accord that she and her mother were planning to go to the police and file a criminal report against me. She didn't say what it was about, though. I didn't take it seriously; I thought it was some kind of joke," the man stated.
According to the case file, he left the family when his daughter was one year old. Contact with her was subsequently irregular. The accused told the court that he offered his daughter a joint household after he discovered that her mother was neglecting her. "She said yes; she knew she was better off with me," he said. According to him, his daughter stopped coming to him after he and his girlfriend pressured her regarding school results.
When asked by the judge how he explained the fact that the girl was able to describe the sexual act in detail in her testimony without having experienced it herself, the accused replied that the girl was curious about the origins of children. "So I played instructional animated videos for adolescents for her," he claimed in court.
The court on Tuesday played the testimony of the injured party with the public excluded. The main hearing will continue with the examination of witnesses and experts.
