On Tuesday morning, an armed robbery took place at a Czech Post branch in Košťálov in the Semilsko region. The perpetrator, apparently equipped with a firearm, forced an employee to hand over cash. No injuries occurred during the incident. Police spokeswoman Dagmar Sochorová informed the public of the case on the police force's official website, according to Aktuálně.cz.

The emergency line 158 received the report at 11:08. All available police units were immediately dispatched to the scene, as the initial report mentioned a possible firearm. Upon arrival, officers established that an unknown man had entered with an unspecified firearm and demanded cash. The employee handed over the sum. The specific amount remains under investigation.

The perpetrator then left the building and disappeared on a dark motorcycle. The description so far indicates a man roughly forty years old, dressed in dark clothing. He was wearing a dark motorcycle helmet on his head.

The investigation is being led by the Semilsko police unit. If caught and convicted, the perpetrator faces up to ten years imprisonment for the armed robbery.

Police are appealing to the public to contact line 158 if anyone witnessed a suspicious individual or motorcycle in the vicinity of the post office.
