Dubňany police uncovered five drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs during an intensified check following a music event near Čejkovice. During an inspection of over sixty vehicles, five motorists lost their driving licences.

The music event in the vicinity of Čejkovice attracted not only listeners but also the attention of law enforcement. In connection with this event, Dubňany police conducted an intensified inspection during which they uncovered several intoxicated and drug-impaired motorists.
During a three-day surveillance operation, law enforcement officers inspected over sixty cars and their occupants. Five drivers, however, had to end their journey prematurely. Three of them were behind the wheel with alcohol in their blood. One refused a test for the presence of drugs and the last one tested positive in a preliminary test for narcotic substances but refused more detailed medical examination.
An unusual case occurred when one of the motorists spotted a police patrol and attempted to evade it by reversing. His getaway ended on a country lane surrounded by grain. A subsequent breathalyser test showed the man had over half a per mille of alcohol. All five individuals lost their driving privileges at the scene.
The concert took place in a remote location outside a residential zone. During its duration, no disturbance of night-time peace or other disruption of order was reported. Police nevertheless dealt with further violations – three visitors were reported to the administrative authority for discarding plastic waste in the vicinity of local vineyards. They face a fine of up to twenty thousand crowns.
As Police of the Czech Republic pointed out, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs significantly reduces the ability to drive safely. An affected driver has worse attention, slower reactions, poor assessment of traffic situations and coordination of movements. Depending on the circumstances, such conduct may be assessed as a misdemeanour or, in more serious cases, as a criminal offence.
