Man suspected of two sexual assaults in Prague 8 detained, faces ten years imprisonment
Criminal investigators are examining two cases of sexual assault from the second half of September in Prague 8. The suspect is now in custody, and police are appealing to any further possible victims to come forward.

Criminal investigators from the third police district are examining two cases of sexual assault that occurred within several days in the second half of September in Prague 8. According to information from policie.gov.cz, the same man is suspected in both cases, and he was previously investigated in connection with a suspicion of rape.
The first incident occurred overnight from 19 to 20 September in a park in the Palmovka area. A woman who was moving through the park as part of a group was heavily under the influence of alcohol. When she discovered that her mobile phone was missing, one of the men present told her he would return the device in exchange for a sexual act. The woman refused. The man then allegedly raped her.
The second incident occurred on Monday 21 September in the evening in Park Pod Plynojemem. The suspect sat down next to a woman sitting on a bench and attempted to initiate contact, despite her repeatedly making clear that she did not want his presence. The man then used force to attempt oral sex. The completion of the act was prevented by the woman's partner, who arrived at the scene after the woman sent him a message requesting help. Criminal investigators are classifying this case as a suspected rape in the attempted stage.
Criminal investigators detained the suspect the second day after the incidents. He is now being prosecuted in custody for the particularly serious crime of rape in the attempted stage, for which he faces a prison sentence of up to ten years.
The man is not unknown to police. In December 2024, he was investigated on suspicion of raping a woman on the Barrandov. That investigation, however, did not result in criminal prosecution — the evidence material was insufficient and the case had to be closed.
Police are now releasing an image of the suspect, as they believe he may be responsible for further offences. The man moves in circles of homeless people; his distinctive identifying feature is missing front teeth. Any possible victims who recognise him and were sexually assaulted by him are urged by police to contact the emergency line 158.
