Intoxicated driver in Brno fled police and caused three collisions
Sunday morning after eight o'clock, police officers from the Brno-North District Station interrupted routine patrol work when they attempted to stop a passing vehicle on Merhautova Street. However, the driver disregarded the signal to stop and fled recklessly.
His reckless driving continued through the streets of the Husovice district. On Elgartova Street he collided with the first car without slowing down. Law enforcement managed to stop him only at the intersection of Merhautova and Jugoslávská Streets, where he struck two further vehicles. Officers had to use coercive measures during the arrest.
Subsequent inspection revealed the presence of narcotics in the 33-year-old man. He was taken into a detention cell. One of the collision participants sustained minor injuries. Investigators are continuing to examine the case.
