Fraud over childcare group subsidy: court punishes priest and former MP
The Ostrava regional court closed the case of two men accused of unlawfully drawing public money. Rádio Impuls reported on the matter.
Leoš Ryška was the director of the non-profit organisation Telepace, Petr Kudela was its manager. Together they faced charges of fraud in drawing European subsidies. The money was intended for the operation of a facility called the Noe Childcare Group.
The total amount paid out by authorities on the basis of manipulated documents came to three million crowns. The perpetrators submitted fictitious employment contracts with parents to the authorities. These documents were intended to prove activity that was not actually taking place.
The court accepted a guilty plea and sentencing agreement submitted by both parties. The editorial office did not publish the specific amount of the sanction.
