Police seek witnesses to collision between motorcyclist and pedestrian in Karlovy Vary
On Monday shortly before 8 a.m., a traffic incident occurred on Frimlova Street in Karlovy Vary, in which a motorcyclist collided with a pedestrian. According to information available so far, the man was crossing the road at a location where there is no marked crossing. The rider attempted to avoid the collision, but was unable to complete the manoeuvre.
The pedestrian sustained minor injuries in the collision, which were treated at hospital. Paramedics transported him there after providing first aid. Police officers administered breath tests to both parties involved, with negative results, said Jan Bílek, spokesman for Karlovy Vary police.
Investigators are now appealing to people who were in the vicinity of Frimlova Street at the time in question. They could help clarify the exact course of events. Video recordings from dashboard cameras of vehicles that passed through the area could also be very useful.
Members of the public can share their observations via the free helpline 158 or in person at any local police station. Police are hopeful they will be able to obtain sufficient information to close the case quickly.
