The Moravian-Silesian Police have accused 18 people and 15 companies of suspected unauthorised drawing of subsidies intended for employee education. The damage exceeds seven million crowns.
Police accuse 18 people and 15 firms of subsidy fraud related to training
The Moravian-Silesian Police have accused eighteen individuals and fifteen legal entities in connection with the unauthorised drawing of subsidies intended for employee education. The finances were meant to come from the National Recovery Plan. Detectives carried out a total of thirty-two house searches and other searches.
In the course of the case, Czech authorities are cooperating with the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO). The investigation focuses on the fact that some planned training courses did not take place at all, yet public funds were drawn for them. The preliminarily estimated damage reaches approximately seven million crowns.
Subsidies for employee education represent one of the pillars of the National Recovery Plan, which aims to improve the qualifications of the workforce in the Czech Republic. The suspects allegedly exploited systemic loopholes to obtain money for activities that either did not take place or were significantly overvalued.
