A twenty-five-year-old man stole from cars, failed to pay at a hotel and committed fraud over several months in the Trutnov area. Police apprehended him last Friday and the court placed him in custody. He faces up to five years in prison.

Trutnov police officers apprehended a twenty-five-year-old recidivist on Friday afternoon, 19 September 2025, against whom an arrest warrant had been issued. The investigator expanded the charges from the beginning of the year to include additional offences – fraud, burglary, breach of residential freedom and misuse of a payment instrument.
Despite ongoing criminal proceedings, the man continued to commit property crimes in the Trutnov area. The total damage exceeded 270,000 crowns.
He repeatedly searched through unlocked vehicles and took what was left inside. He stole a notebook with documents and a wallet, wireless headphones and a multi-functional charger. In a pharmacy, he hid perfumes in his rucksack and left without paying.
In May, he checked into a hotel where he claimed he was travelling to see his employer. He left the room only after ten days at the request of staff. He never paid an invoice exceeding 30,000 crowns.
Because he committed the offences during the probationary period of conditional release, the commissioner filed a motion for custody on Saturday, 20 September. A judge at the District Court in Trutnov granted the motion. He is now being prosecuted in custody, and upon conviction he faces up to five years in prison.
