Regional detectives are investigating a violent crime that occurred during the night from Saturday to Sunday in the village of Jílové in the Děčín district, according to cnn.iprima.cz. In connection with the case, police pursued a personal vehicle driven by a 52-year-old.
The pursuit ended in a crash. Before 1:00 a.m., the driver collided at high speed with a lorry on motorway D8 near Nová Ves in the Mělník district. Paramedics transported him with very serious injuries to the Faculty Hospital in Královské Vinohrady in Prague.
"In connection with the case, there was subsequently a pursuit of the 52-year-old driver. The driver subsequently collided at high speed with a lorry on motorway D8 before Prague," police stated on the X network.
Regional police spokesperson Veronika Hyšplerová said that no further detailed information could be provided about the case at this time. Detectives are continuing to investigate both the circumstances of the violent crime in Jílové and the course of the subsequent traffic accident.
