Olomoucky.denik.cz reports on a series of attacks on children in the Olomouc region, allegedly carried out by a group of older youths touring village festivities. The attacks were recorded in Náměšť na Hané, Slatinky, Drahanovic, Seničky and Luběnice.

One of the attacked victims is hospitalised at Olomouc University Hospital with multiple fractures of the jaw and facial bones, according to Mladá fronta Dnes (MfD), which first described the cases in detail.

Mayor of Slatinky Ondřej Mikmek described the situation as a recurring phenomenon. "A group of older guys who are not from the area tour village festivities, pick out some isolated guy and beat him up. We had a similar case on 15 August at a village feast and I know of other attacks in other villages," he told MfD.

The incidents are also known to the mayor of Náměšť na Hané, Diana Huňková. MfD also cites statements from parents of the attacked children.

Police confirmed that they are actively investigating cases in Náměšť na Hané. "We have recorded three cases of assault and are carrying out all actions to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators. In view of the circumstances of the case and in one case also the age of the victim, we will not comment further at this time," said police spokesman Jaroslav Herzán.
