Attacks at village entertainment events: police record three cases of assault in Náměšť na Hané

Olomouc police are investigating a series of attacks on children that have occurred at village entertainment events in the region. According to olomoucky.denik.cz, citing Mladá fronta Dnes, the attacks are the work of a group of youths who systematically travel between entertainment events.

Incidents have been reported in Náměšť na Hané, Slatinice, Drahanovic, Seničku and Luběnice. One of the victims is hospitalised at Olomouc university hospital with multiple fractures to the jaw and facial bones.

Slatinice mayor Ondřej Mikmek described the attacks as a recurring phenomenon. "A group of older boys who are not from the area travel between village entertainment events, single out some isolated boy and beat him up. We had a similar incident on 15 August at a village festival celebration and I am aware of other attacks in other municipalities," Mikmek told Mladá fronta Dnes.

The incidents have also been reported to Náměšť na Hané mayor Diana Huňková. Mladá fronta Dnes also cited statements from the parents of the attacked children.

Police spokesman Jaroslav Herzán confirmed that police are actively investigating the case. "We have recorded three cases of assault and are conducting all necessary steps to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators. Given the circumstances of the case and in one instance the victim's age, we will not comment further at this time," said Herzán.
