State prosecutor at the wheel with three per mille: crash in Plzeň and fleeing the scene of the accident
A state prosecutor from Plzeň is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a traffic accident, according to Blesk.cz. The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 13:00 in a car park on Vocelova Street, in the immediate vicinity of the District Court Plzeň-město.
The 65-year-old driver of a Lexus vehicle collided with two parked cars – a Škoda and a Subaru – and drove off without stopping. "He left the scene without fulfilling the statutory obligation of a traffic accident participant," said police spokeswoman Eva Červenková.
Police officers stopped the driver shortly afterwards in a small village in the Přeštice area, in the southern Plzeň region. A breath test produced a clear result: over three per mille of alcohol in the breath.
Police are investigating the case on suspicion of endangerment under the influence of a narcotic substance. The prosecutor went on leave following the incident.
