The public prosecutor is recommending an exceptional sentence of 28 years in prison for a 36-year-old man charged with the murder of a woman in Mírov in the Šumperk district last year.

The Olomouc branch of the regional court will begin hearing the case of a woman's murder in Mírov in the Šumperk district next Tuesday. The public prosecutor is recommending an exceptional sentence of 28 years in prison for the 36-year-old defendant.

The man murdered his girlfriend by stabbing. The crime occurred just three weeks after he was conditionally released from Mírov prison. He was serving a sentence there for the murder of another woman, whom he also stabbed.

The defendant confessed to the crime to investigators. However, he showed no interest in concluding an agreement on guilt and sentence.

The case will be heard at the Olomouc branch of the regional court next Tuesday.
