Prosecutor seeks 28 years for murder of woman in Mírov. Accused stabbed her three weeks after release from prison

The Olomouc branch of the regional court will begin proceedings next Tuesday into last year's murder of a woman in Mírov in the Šumperk district. The prosecutor is proposing an exceptional sentence of 28 years imprisonment for the 36-year-old defendant.

The man confessed to the crime to investigators. However, he showed no interest in reaching a plea bargain agreement. According to the charge, he murdered his girlfriend merely three weeks after his conditional release from Mírov prison. He was serving a sentence there for the murder of another woman. Both victims died following knife attacks.

The case attracted attention because the perpetrator committed the second murder shortly after his release from serving his sentence for the first.
