On Wednesday afternoon, a violent incident involving a firearm took place on Herbertova Street in Prague's Hostivař district. Police officers who arrived at the scene found a woman in one of the houses who had sustained fatal injuries. Beside her lay a man with serious wounds sustained in an apparent suicide attempt. Paramedics transported him to hospital. Investigators confirmed that both individuals were in a family relationship.
A similar tragedy occurred on the same street in April 2023. At that time, a man in a residential building used a firearm against a woman and subsequently took his own life. His victim survived on that occasion, although she sustained serious injuries.
