Knife attack near Bolevecký Pond in Plzeň: police seek cyclist
An unknown cyclist stabbed a female jogger without apparent reason near Velký Bolevecký Pond in Plzeň. Police have released images of the attacker and are appealing to the public for assistance.

Plzeň police have released photographs from camera recordings showing a cyclist who attacked a woman jogging near Velký Bolevecký Pond with a knife on Saturday, 10 October. According to Deník.cz, the attack occurred at approximately 13:00.
The thirty-nine-year-old woman was attacked without apparent reason while jogging. "The injured thirty-nine-year-old woman went out jogging around the pond when she was attacked without apparent reason by an unknown man. He inflicted a stab wound to her back with a knife. Police officers arrived at the scene first and provided the woman with first aid before handing her over to healthcare workers," said police spokesperson Dagmar Mifková. Emergency workers transported the woman to hospital.
The perpetrator fled the scene on a bicycle. Dozens of police officers immediately launched a search, which has not yet yielded results. Criminal investigators are examining the case on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm at the stage of attempt and disorderly conduct.
According to the camera recordings, it is a younger man of slim build who speaks Czech without an accent. He was riding a green-and-black mountain bike. He wore a helmet, apparently grey in colour, with a peak, and a blue sports neck gaiter over his face. He was dressed in light-coloured trousers, black sports shoes with white sole, and a blue-and-black hooded jacket. He carried a black-and-red rucksack on his back.
"If you recognise the man in the photographs from the camera recording or have any information that might help identify this man, or if you were a witness to the attack on the woman near Bolevecký Pond, please contact police on the emergency line 158," Mifková appealed to the public.
