Investigators have charged a member of the armed forces with illegal weapons and ammunition possession. Military police, who obtained evidence during an operation in the Plzeň region in August of last year, are investigating the case.

Investigators determined that the man possessed weapons and ammunition without the necessary authorisation. The soldier faces charges of unlawful arming, for which the criminal code stipulates a sentence of deprivation of liberty of up to five years.

The prosecution is proceeding with the man at large under the supervision of military police. The case is now being heard by the relevant court.
