Murder of thirteen-year-old below Chmelník in Děčín: perpetrators had interest in black magic
Two boys murdered their thirteen-year-old friend in February 2022 below the Děčín hilltop Chmelník. The motive connected to black magic has not been clarified to this day.

More than four years ago, a thirteen-year-old boy lost his life below the Děčín hilltop Chmelník – in a place where otherwise only tourists and dog walkers pass among wooden animal sculptures. As Deník.cz reports as part of its series Tales of Evil, the murder was carried out by two boys aged 15 and 18.
The act took place one February evening in 2022. Police apprehended the perpetrators shortly after the crime. Soon after, disturbing information began to circulate about the circumstances of the death: the victim reportedly had a sack on his head and was beaten with sticks.
Local residents reacted with horror. "Nothing like this has ever happened here," Jiřina Krbcová from Vilsnice told the newspaper at the time. A dog walker who was walking his dog on Chmelník at that time shared the same view: "I don't remember anything like that happening here." At a primary school in Želenice, a black flag was hoisted shortly after the crime and classmates lit candles.
The final farewell to the boy took place in March at the Folknářy venue in Děčín. The ceremonial hall was bursting at the seams. The funeral speaker described the victim as a friend who liked skating, cycling and swimming in the pool. "We do not know why fate allotted him so few years," the woman said, struggling to find words for her brief address.
The question of motive remains unanswered. Shortly after the murder, speculation emerged as to whether the perpetrators' interest in black magic was behind the brutal act. However, according to Deník.cz, even after years, clarity has not been reached on this matter.
