Criminal investigators from the headquarters fighting organised crime conducted a raid at the office in Litoměřice. From the office of the head of the department dealing with nature protection, they took away his work mobile phone and computer equipment.
The incident occurred during the past week. According to findings by the local Deník, it is a case involving allegedly unusual handling of a request from one of the villages in the area. However, nobody from those questioned was willing to elaborate on the specific substance of the case.
Pavel Gryndler, who heads the department, admitted on Monday that the detectives had visited his workplace. His mobile number was unavailable that day. When the editorial office contacted his landline, he refused to reveal anything in detail. "That is all I can say. I will not comment on the matter for now," he responded briefly.
Deputy mayor Michaela Rozsypalová confirmed the police presence at the office. She stated that the investigation focuses on one specific administrative case, not on the activities of the entire department. "The city cooperated with the investigators and provided them with everything necessary. Because this is an ongoing proceeding, we will not release further information," the spokesperson explained.
The police headquarters also refused to disclose details. Its spokesperson Barbara Kudláčková merely stated that the unit was carrying out steps as part of criminal proceedings. She declined further comment, saying she would not say anything more for now.
