A thirty-eight-year-old Michaela Cao appeared before the Regional Court in Olomouc, accused by the state prosecutor of attempted murder. According to the indictment, last year in a rented flat in Olomouc during a conflict she seized a kitchen knife with a blade exceeding twenty centimetres and thrust it into her partner's chest, according to iDNES.cz.
At the time the attack occurred, the defendant was under the influence of pervitin. During the court hearing, she defended herself by saying she never intended to cause fatal injury to her partner. Her aim, she claimed, was merely to arouse fear in him and frighten him.
