Woman in Strakonice pointed plastic weapon at neighbour, arrested
Police detained a woman on Wednesday afternoon suspected of making dangerous threats in the vicinity of Podsrpenská Street in Strakonice.

As reported by strakonicky.denik.cz, police searched the area around Podsrpenská Street in Strakonice on Wednesday afternoon for a woman who allegedly pointed a short firearm at her neighbour. For safety reasons, part of the locality was closed off and pedestrian and vehicle traffic was diverted.
The search did not last long. A frontline patrol from Strakonice detained the suspect shortly after the operation began.
"Police detained the suspect; further necessary steps are now being carried out at the scene. No one is in danger anymore. No one was injured," said police spokesperson Jiří Matzner at approximately 14:30.
Matzner later clarified that the woman is suspected of making dangerous threats. The object she was holding turned out to be a plastic replica of a short firearm. The closed-off area around Podsrpenská Street was reopened within minutes of the arrest.
