Knife threat in Erlangen dental practice: 14-year-old demands end of treatment
A routine appointment at the orthodontist escalated dangerously on Monday in Erlangen. According to BILD's report citing police, a 14-year-old schoolgirl threatened her dentist with a knife because she felt the duration of her braces treatment was too long.
The teenager demanded that the 44-year-old doctor tell her parents that the treatment was already completed. The doctor refused.
Thereupon, the schoolgirl suddenly drew a knife according to police and threatened the orthodontist to underpin her demand. The 14-year-old then left the practice.
A spokesperson for the Erlangen-Stadt police department confirmed to BILD: "It is correct that the patient threatened the dentist with a stabbing weapon and then disappeared from the practice."
When the alerted officers arrived, the teenager was no longer to be found. The doctor and her staff remained uninjured. An investigation was initiated against the 14-year-old for threatening behaviour.
