38-year-old tears off 11-year-old's dress on local bus in Hesse
A man ripped off the summer dress of an 11-year-old girl in a city bus near Rüsselsheim. The 38-year-old is now in psychiatric care.
Sexual assault on city bus near Rüsselsheim: suspect in psychiatric clinic
According to 20 Minuten, citing the local newspaper Main-Spitze, a case of sexual assault on a child occurred at the end of May 2026 on a local bus in Rüsselsheim, Hesse. A 38-year-old man approached an 11-year-old girl who had just boarded and tore her summer dress from top to bottom off her body.
The attack occurred "completely without warning", according to police spokesman Bernd Hochstädter. The man applied so much force that both straps of the dress tore. The girl was wearing an undershirt underneath and was therefore not exposed.
The bus driver noticed the incident immediately and held the suspect until police arrived. During his arrest, the 38-year-old put up massive resistance: a police officer sustained an abrasion wound on her forearm, and a colleague a minor injury to his finger.
The man is accused of sexual assault on a child as well as resistance and violent attacks on law enforcement officers. He is registered in North Rhine-Westphalia and, according to police, already has a criminal record for assault and acts of resistance. His immigration status is not known to the newspaper.
Initially, police incorrectly reported that the man had been released after being admitted to a psychiatric clinic. According to current information, however, he remains in the Vitos clinic in Riedstadt. The affected girl is in the care of her legal guardians.
