Stone thrown from balcony: Police arrest 69-year-old in Harthof
As the Süddeutsche Zeitung reports, Munich police arrested a 69-year-old man on Friday evening at Max-von-Laue-Straße in the Harthof district following multiple threats and an assault.
The man was visiting an acquaintance when he rang the doorbell of a neighbour in the course of the evening, with whom he apparently had an outstanding dispute following earlier rows. He threatened her that he would stab her. The woman then contacted the police.
The 69-year-old retreated into his acquaintance's flat, went out onto the balcony and began throwing objects onto the street. There he got into an argument with an eleven-year-old boy. He then picked up a stone and threw it at the child, who was struck on the head and suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, several police units had arrived, including the special operations command and the negotiation team. The latter succeeded in making telephone contact with the man and persuading him to give himself up. When he left the flat, he was arrested without resistance.
The 69-year-old is already known to police for several so-called violent offences. He was charged with dangerous assault and threatening behaviour and subsequently released on bail.
