During the night of 18 April, unknown offenders broke into the grounds of a company in Meitzendorf in Börde district and stole several hundred kilogrammes of aluminium scrap. The intruders had first forced open a fence panel to gain access.
The perpetrators had driven a car to the boundary of the business site. Video equipment recorded the incident. During their escape, the thieves drove over a groundwater monitoring well, which damaged their vehicle. Due to the leaking oil, police officers were able to follow a trail to the motorway.
The competent Börde police station is seeking witnesses and accepts information at 03904 / 4780 or digitally via the Electronic Police Station.
